Acorda Therapeutics®, Inc. ("Acorda" or "we") own(s) and operate(s) the website located at www.ampyra.com (the "Site"). Acorda respects the privacy of visitors to its site. We have created this Privacy Policy to let you know what information we may collect from you from your usage of the Site and how we may use that information. Please take a moment to review the terms of this Privacy Policy. By using the Site, you agree to accept the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site. This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected on the Site. It does not apply to information that we may collect by means other than on the Site.

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION

Collection and Use

You are not required to provide any personal information in order to access the Site and the information available on the Site. However, in order to take advantage of certain features offered or provided on the Site, you will be asked to provide personal information, such as your name, email address, mailing address and phone number. For example, we will collect certain personal information if you choose to join our email list or send questions or comments to us via email, or if you would like to receive information about ampyra.com. If you have opted-in to our communications and wish at any time to stop receiving them, simply contact us to let us know. You can unsubscribe from our email list by following instructions that are included in each email. You do not have to provide the requested information.

If you provide us with personal information, Acorda will retain and use that information for the purpose for which it was submitted, such as emailing press preleases and product announcements and sending you health and product related information. We may also use personal information to assist in the customization of the information we provide on the Site and to ensure compliance with Acorda policies and applicable laws.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Except for the limited situations discussed in this Privacy Policy, we will not share your personal information with any third parties except for those third parties contracted with Acorda, who are bound to use your personal information solely as directed by Acorda. We may sometimes use third parties to perform certain services for us, such as sending postal mail and providing data analysis. We may provide personal information to those businesses when that information is necessary for them to respond to your requests or otherwise perform their duties, as requested by Acorda. All such third parties will be bound to use your personal information solely as directed by Acorda.

As Acorda develops, we may buy other businesses or their assets or sell our business or assets. Customer information is generally one of the business assets involved in such transactions. Thus, in the event that Acorda sells all or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information, including any visitor information collected through the Site, would be one of the transferred assets.

Finally, Acorda reserves the right to disclose visitor information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Acorda's rights or property, other visitors, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. Acorda also reserves the right to disclose visitor information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.

2. AGGREGATE INFORMATION

From time to time, we may collect general, non-personal, statistical information about the use of the Site, such as how many visitors visit a specific page on the Site, how long they stay on that page, and which hyperlinks, if any, they "click" on. We collect this information through the use of technologies such as "cookies" and "IP addresses," both of which are discussed in greater detail below. We collect this information in order to determine which areas of the Site are most frequently visited, which information can be used to enhance the Site for visitors. We may also group this information into aggregate visitor data in order to describe the use of the Site to our existing or potential business partners or other third parties, or in response to a government request. However, please be assured that this aggregate data will in no way personally identify you or any other visitors to the Site.

IP Addresses

An IP address is a number that's automatically assigned to your computer whenever you're surfing the web. Web servers, the big computers that "serve up" webpages, automatically identify your computer by its IP address. Acorda collects IP addresses for purposes of system administration, to report aggregate information to third parties and to track the usage of the Site. When visitors request pages from the Site, our servers log the visitors' IP addresses. It is not our practice to link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, which means that although a visitor's session will be logged, the visitor remains anonymous to us. However, we reserve the right to use IP addresses to identify a visitor only when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with the Site's policies, to protect Acorda, the Site, its visitors, or others or in accordance with applicable laws.

Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information that a website transfers to an individual's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. Cookies make web-surfing easier for you by saving your preferences while you're at the Site. The use of cookies is an industry standard—you'll find them at most websites. By showing how and when visitors use the Site, cookies help us see which areas are most frequently visited and which are not. Information such as the total number of visitors and pages viewed is most easily tracked with cookies. We may use the information from cookies to make improvements and updates to the Site and to tailor our services to the needs of our visitors. For example, the Site allows visitors to increase the font size of the text contained on the Site to make it easier to read. Cookies enable the site to automatically use your preferred font size the next time you visit the Site. Usage of cookies is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

You always have the option of disabling cookies using your browser preferences. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, please be aware that some features of the Site may not function properly or may be slower if you disable cookies.

We may use advertising services to display advertising on other third party websites. In addition to placing advertisements on third party websites, these services may also place a segment of code called a clear pixel tag, also known as a "GIF", on our web pages for the purpose of measuring the effectiveness of advertisements in bringing visitors to our website. No personally identifiable information is collected in this process.

3. LINKS TO OTHER SITES

We provide links to websites or resources outside of our Site for your informational purposes only. You will be notified when you are about to link to a site other than www.ampyra.com. You acknowledge and agree that Acorda is not responsible for the availability of such sites or resources, and does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, goods, services or other materials on, available through or provided by such sites or resources. These other sites may send their own cookies to you, collect data or solicit personal information from you. The privacy policies and terms of use of other sites may be significantly different from the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy on our Site. We are not responsible for the privacy or other practices of such sites and cannot guarantee the security of any of your personal information that you provide or is collected by such sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies and terms of use on those linked sites.

4. SECURITY

Protecting the security of your personal information is very important to us. When you transmit personal information from your personal computer to our servers, your information is protected by both a "firewall" (a combination of computer hardware and software that helps keep unauthorized visitors from accessing information within our computer network) and industry standard SSL (secure socket layer) encryption. Once we receive your transmission, we will take reasonable precautions to ensure its security on our systems. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while Acorda strives to protect your personal information and privacy, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us online and cannot be responsible for the theft, destruction, or inadvertent disclosure of your personal information.

5. PRIVACY POLICY FOR CHILDREN

We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 18 on the Site. If you are under the age of 18, please do not provide any personal information to us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 18, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to delete such information from our database. If you are under the age of 18 and wish to register to obtain further information, your parent or guardian must register.

6. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

The terms of this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes to this Privacy Policy by posting a notice, on the homepage of the Site for a reasonable period of time after such changes are made, that this Privacy Policy has been updated, and by changing the "Last Modified" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to check this page periodically for any changes. Indication & Important Safety Information

INDICATION

AMPYRA® (dalfampridine) Extended Release Tablets, 10 mg, is the first and only brand prescription medicine indicated to help improve walking in adults with multiple sclerosis (MS). This was demonstrated by an increase in walking speed.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Do not take AMPYRA if you:

  • have ever had a seizure,
  • have certain types of kidney problems, or
  • are allergic to dalfampridine (4-aminopyridine), the active ingredient in AMPYRA.

Take AMPYRA exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Before taking AMPYRA, tell your doctor if you:

  • have any other medical conditions
  • are taking compounded 4-aminopyridine
  • are taking any other prescription or OTC medicines, such as cimetidine
  • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if AMPYRA will harm your unborn baby.
  • are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if AMPYRA passes into your breast milk. Talk with your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby if you take AMPYRA.

Stop taking AMPYRA and call your doctor right away if you have a seizure while taking AMPYRA. You could have a seizure even if you never had a seizure before. Your chance of having a seizure is higher if you take too much AMPYRA or if your kidneys have a mild decrease of function, which is common after age 50. Your doctor may do a blood test to check how well your kidneys are working before you start AMPYRA.

AMPYRA should not be taken with other forms of 4-aminopyridine (4-AP, fampridine), since the active ingredient is the same.

AMPYRA may cause dizziness or vertigo. If you have these symptoms do not drive, operate machinery or do other dangerous activities.

AMPYRA may cause serious side effects, including severe allergic reactions. Stop taking AMPYRA and call your doctor right away or get emergency medical help if you have shortness of breath or trouble breathing, swelling of your throat or tongue, or hives.

The most common side effects for AMPYRA in MS patients were urinary tract infection; trouble sleeping; dizziness; headache; nausea; weakness; back pain; problems with balance; multiple sclerosis relapse; burning, tingling, or itching of your skin; irritation in your nose and throat; constipation; indigestion; and pain in your throat.
